Boyz II Men are one of the most iconic groups in music history and are fresh off of their GRAMMYs performance where they performed a Kobe Bryant tribute with Alicia Keys with the song 'It's So Hard to Say Goodbye'. They still have a lot of love for their hometown of Philadelphia as they are helping schools in the city in a major way. According to CheatSheet, Boyz II Men have donated $110,000 to music programs in the city's school district.

This comes after a Valentines' Day concert that the group had in their hometown. They all met each other while attending Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts and are now emphasizing how students and others who want to pursue music don't have these music programs. These are primarily due to huge budget cuts. As soon as Boyz II Men were made aware of the situation in Philly, they decided to put matters in their hands and come through with the funds.

On the night before their show in Philly, the iconic group met with Live Nation and Revered Mark Hatcher from Holy Ghost Ministries at The Met Philadelphia. This was where the $110k donation was presented to the School District of Philadelphia.
"In only its first year, Live Nation and the Met have raised and made this significant donation as the result of on-going efforts and a commitment to giving back to the community," Live Nation said in a statement regarding the donation.

Boyz II Men have performed twice at The Met in Philadelphia as its a new venue which opened back in 2018. The group made a name for themselves in the 1990s with hit records such as "One Sweet Day" featuring Mariah Carey, "End of The Road," and "One Bended Knee." The group has released 13 total studio albums. They continue to be in high demand in the entertainment industry as they frequently perform in Las Vegas at The Mirage resort.

This was an epic move by Boyz II Men. Any time that artists are put in a position to give back to their communities, they should take advantage of that. Fellow Philadelphia artist Meek Mill has also done a great job of working within his North Philly community. He is also part of the REFORM Alliance group with New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, TV anchor Van Jones, Philadelphia 76ers Co-Owner Michael Rubin, Clara Wu Tsai, who is the wife of the Brooklyn Nets' owner Joseph Tsai, and legendary rapper Jay Z to help with mass incarceration issues in America.
